AB0996 Rheumathologic Diseases in Adolescence: Psychological Profile of a Difficult Age
2015
Background Chronic disease significantly interfere with the quality of life at every age, expecially in a period of life characterized by the need to assume a role in the society and the research of a specific identity. The personal image is often destroyed by the disease, the long term sequelae of pharmacological treatment. Adolescents are frequently obligated to quit many possibilities of experience with peers. Objectives We realized a plurispecialistic approach to adolescents with rheumatologic diseases, with the figures of neuropsychiatric, psychologists, rheumatologists, endocrinologists, to give an answer to the complex requests of these patients. Methods We evaluated 20 patients with…
SAT0136 Focus on Implementation of Cardiovascular Risk Factor Recording for Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis in A Rheumatology Outpatient Clinic
2014
Objectives There is a need for implementing the knowledge of cardiovascular (CV) risk in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) into clinical practice. Our aim was to evaluate CV risk factor (CVRF) recording in a rheumatology outpatient clinic (ROC), where the standard was annual CVRF recording. A second aim was to compare CVRF recording between a regular ROC (RegROC) and an arthritis clinic (AC), which consisted of a structured, team-based model. Methods In 2012, 1142 RA patients visited the ROC of the Hospital of Southern Norway. Of these 612 attended RegROC and 530 attended AC. We conducted a search in the patients9 hospital records to identify recording of CVRFs. Results CVRFs were rec…
AB0715 THE PREVALENCE OF FIBROMIYALGIA IN PATIENTS WITH FAMILIAL MEDITERRANEAN FEVER AND THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FATIGUE AND QUALITY OF LIFE
2021
Background:Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF) can cause various muscle diseases. Because it is a chronic auto inflammatory disease, painful trigger points may be encountered in the examination due to a decrease in the pain threshold (1-3).Objectives:The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of Fibromiyalgia in patients with FMF, at the same time to identify the relationship between fatigue and quality of life. Methods:Sixtyseven patients (38 female, 29 male) with FMF were enrolled in the study. They were diagnosed with FMF based on the Livneh diagnostic criteria (4). Fibromyalgia involvement of the patients was evaluated according to the Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire (FIQ). P…
THU0573 Association Between Sosiodemogapic Data and Perceived Health Status on Sexual Activity in Patients with Axial Spondyloarthritis
2013
Background Axial spondyloarthritis (ax-SpA) is a chronic inflammatory disorder causing signs and symptoms from the axial skeleton, but may also affect peripheral joints, tendons and internal organs. Ax-SpA may give rise to significant loss of function and impaired quality of life. Despite the known importance of sexuality as part of quality of life (Healey 2009), only a few studies have explored sexuality in ax-SpA patients. Objectives To investigate the association between sosiodemograpic data and perceived health status on sexual activity in patients with ax-SpA. Methods Patients with ax-SpA (fulfilling the axial SpA criteria) were consecutively recruited from one clinic in southern and o…
THU0366 SYSTEMATIC CORONARY RISK EVALUATION (SCORE) MISCLASSIFIES CARDIOVASCULAR RISK IN ANTISYNTHETASE SYNDROME: RESULTS OF THE PILOT MULTICENTRIC S…
2020
Background:Antisynthetase Syndrom (ASyS) is an autoimmune overlap disease characterized by antiaminoacyl-tRNA-synthetase (anti-ARS) antibodies and the classic triad of arthritis, myositis and interstitial lung disease (ILD) (1). Markers of cardiovascular (CV) or cerebrovascular (CVB) risk have never been examined in ASyS.Objectives:Aim of this study (RIsk of CARdiovascular Disease in ASyS: RI.CAR.D.A.) was to test the ability of an established traditional CV risk prediction score (Systematic Coronary Risk Evaluation-SCORE) and its EULAR modified version (mSCORE) to identify ASyS patients at high CV risk. Moreover, we sought to examine for the first time associations of CV surrogate markers …
THU0598 Course and Predictors of Pain and Physical Functioning in Patients with HIP Osteoarthritis: Systematic Review
2015
Background Knowledge of risk factors of future pain and physical functioning can be used to inform patients with hip osteoarthritis (OA) on the likely course of their condition and to adapt treatment according to the prognosis. Objectives To systematically summarise the literature on (1) the course of pain and physical functioning and on (2) prognostic factors of future pain and physical functioning in patients with OA of the hip. Methods A search was conducted in PubMed, CINAHL, Embase, Psych-INFO, and SPORTDiscus up to January 2014. Relevant study characteristics were reviewed. Studies were scored for their quality and a qualitative data synthesis was performed. Results Of the twelve incl…
AB1299-HPR THE RHEUMA-VOR APP: OPTIMIZING THE EARLY DIAGNOSIS OF RHEUMATIC DISEASES
2020
Background:The proof-of-concept network study “Rheuma-VOR” aims to improve the quality of rheumatological care through coordinated cooperation. In particular, rheumatic diseases should be diagnosed as early as possible and treated quickly in a targeted manner [3]. Smartphone apps have a potential to improve the management of chronic diseases. For example, they can be used to provide health information, or to offer self-monitoring and self-screening options [1, 2].Objectives:The Rheuma-VOR Screening-App study examines whether a smartphone-based app can increase the detection rate of the three most common chronic inflammatory rheumatic diseases: rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and s…
FRI0056 Joint damage in patients with rheumatoid arthritis over 15-20 years – are there differences between women and men?
2013
Background Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is suggested to be a more severe disease in women than in men as disease activity appears higher in women and men meet remission criteria more often than women do. Long-term severity of RA can be analyzed from permanent joint damage in radiographs. Objectives To study possible differences in the extent of radiographic joint damage between women and men in four early RA cohorts with 15 or more years of prospective follow-up. Methods Early RA cohorts with prospective longitudinal observations include following cohorts: Jyvaskyla Central Hospital with 70 patients from 1990’s (JYV1990) and 135 patients from the 1980’s (JYV1980), Lund University Hospital with…
POS1021 THE PsABio STUDY IN ITALY: A REAL-WORLD COMPARISON OF THE PERSISTENCE, EFFECTIVENESS AND SAFETY OF USTEKINUMAB AND TUMOUR NECROSIS FACTOR INH…
2021
Background:There are still unmet needs in the treatment of psoriatic arthritis (PsA), including in terms of treatment persistence, which is a function of effectiveness, safety and patient satisfaction. Ustekinumab (UST) was the first new biologic drug to be developed for the treatment of PsA after tumour necrosis factor inhibitors (TNFi).Objectives:To compare treatment persistence, effectiveness and safety of UST and TNFi in Italian patients within the PsABio cohort. Methods:PsABio (NCT02627768) is an observational study of 1st/2nd/3rd-line UST or TNFi treatment in PsA in 8 European countries. The current analysis set includes 222 eligible patients treated in 15 Italian centres, followed to …
